Landscapes of the Figeac district

Bordering on the Quercy, Rouergue and Auvergne regions, the district of Figeac brings together distinct and varied landscapes.

To the west, the limestone plateaux “les Causses” lead to Cahors through characteristic pastoral landscapes.

To the east, the wooded Ségala hills and pastures are forerunners of the Massif Central mountains. In between these two distinctive landscapes, the fertile soil of the Limargue preserves its traditional aspect of farmland, fields and hedges still encompassing the town of Figeac.
