Google Map : LARROQUE TOIRAC
Clinging to the steep cliffs above the village and the Lot valley,
the castle of Larroque Toirac has retained its medieval defensive system despite having been taken by the English troops several times during the Hundred Years’ War.
The feudal lord’s residence still has the original kitchens and 15th century fireplaces as well as 16th century frescos. The caves in the cliff behind the castle were used as troglodyte dwellings.
