The village is today composed of two older former parishes, Felzins and Guirande.
The church in Felzins has left little trace of its past, however the Romanesque chapel in Guirande has retained the trace of its legends. There are paintings dating from the 16th century : surrounding representations of Christ and the evangelists, scenes evoke the legend of Saint Namphaise, a local figure who had the gift of curing epilepsy.
