Google Map : BEDUER
Béduer is situated 10 minutes drive away from Figeac on a plateau at the foothills of the Massif Central between Causse and Limargue.
Its name is said to come from the expression “bederio” or “bedorio” which means “to see far” .
At the top of the village is the medieval castle built by the Barasc family (Géraud 5th was bishop of Cahors from 1237 to 1250) in the 13th century. It overlooks the Célé valley and is at a junction on the GR 65.
The choice is between continuing via Gréalou and Cajarc towards Cahors or taking the alternative route via the GR 651 which follows the Célé valley to its confluence with the river Lot at Bouziès, there joining up with the GR 36
