Situation
Perched on the cliffs, the village overlooks the Lot valley offering one of the most striking view points in the department. Whether for the village or for the view it is well worth seeing.
Faycelles - Important dates
In the 8th century, the village was situated at the foot of the cliffs. A leper-house was founded and the inhabitants moved to houses built around a castle, the site of the present day village. Wine merchants brought wealth to the town but could not prevent Richelieu from dismantling the castle. The Phylloxera disease put an end to the vineyards and the prosperity of the town in 1880.
