Situation

Capdenac Gare occupies the site below the ancient city of Capdenac le Haut in a loop of the river Lot.
Figeac, Conques, Rocamadour and the Bastides of the Rouergue are all within a radius of 30km.

Capdenac Gare - Important dates

The history of Capdenac Gare is closely linked to its situation on the river Lot. Thanks to the river commercial contact was established taking coal from the mining district of the Rouergue to Bordeaux and the Garonne.

The industrial revolution meant a the development of rail transport and Capdenac Gare became a hub linking the towns of Brive, Toulouse, Rodez, Cahors and Aurillac. The golden age for Capdenac Gare was the 1920s with the presence of the steam train.
